OVERVIEW

A fuller hotel

experience next to San Marco Square.

San Clemente Palace is defined by the way its main strengths come together in one place: the Romanesque church dating to 1131, lush Mediterranean gardens, grand courtyards, refined accommodation, Italian lifestyle dining, the Longevity Spa - Milano and resort space - all within Venice itself, distinct from every international branded hotel in the city.

The estate is best understood not only through its rooms and facilities, but through its atmosphere, culture and depth of place. The Photo Gallery, the Historical Church dating to 1131 and the Art Exhibition together form a cultural layer unique in Venetian luxury hospitality - making San Clemente Palace a destination to experience, not simply a hotel to stay in.

HISTORCAL CHURCH

HISTORICAL CHURCH

TThe church of San Clemente dates back to 1131  for pilgrims and soldiers who were embarking on a journey to the Holy Land of Jerusalem, marking the beginning of the island's rich history.  Dedicated to Pope Clement I, a patron of seamen and a martyr according to legend, the complex was initially run by Augustine canons until the 14th century. Since then, the island has undergone various transformations, from serving as a military garrison after the suppression of religious orders by Napoleon in 1810 One of the island's most remarkable features is the San Clemente church. The church facades boast engravings of soldiers, an unusual sight for religious constructions.  A prime example of the island's rich history is the building of Holy House of Loreto, inside the San Clemente church.

THE ESSENTIAL PILLARS

SETTING

A Venetian estate with real spatial privilege.

Eight hectares of grounds give the hotel a degree of air, greenery and breadth that is exceptionally rare so close to San Marco Square - and entirely unlike the scale any city-centre hotel in Venice can offer.

WELLNESS

Calm is not an add-on here.

The Longevity Spa – Milano, outdoor heated pool, sport and fitness facilities and lush Mediterranean gardens are not peripheral amenities - they are central to the property’s promise of a more restorative, Italian lifestyle Venice experience.

HERITAGE

Monastic origins, Italian historical landmark.

The Romanesque church dating to 1131, restored historic buildings and monastic courtyards root the stay in genuine Venetian time - not merely decorated in its image, but alive with its history.

ACCOMMODATION

Rooms, suites and residences with hierarchy.

From elegant rooms of 35–50 sqm to the San Clemente Signature Suite - among the most prestigious in Europe - and residences of 2–6 bedrooms, the estate answers very different travel needs with the same Italian lifestyle care.

ART

Contemporary expression within a historic frame.

Indoor and outdoor art installations, the Art Exhibition and the 1131 church create a cultural dimension that makes San Clemente Palace one of Venice’s most intellectually rich and layered luxury experiences.

EXPERIENCE

Photo gallery, church and cultural discovery.

The Photo Gallery, the Romanesque church dating to 1131 and the Art Exhibition make San Clemente Palace an experience-rich Venetian world - a complete Italian lifestyle destination within Venice, not a simple overnight base.
